Transfer Roundup 1/27

The silly season, which is the transfer window, is well under way and the end is fast approaching. Being an Arsenal fan we are used to what we are experiencing now... crickets. To get you caught up let's take a look at the business done so far:

Maitland-Niles (Loan w/ buy option): Roma

Balogun (Loan): Middlesbrough

Illiev (Contract terminated)

Kolašinac (Contract terminated): Marseille

Marí (Loan): Udinese

Chambers (Sold): Aston Villa

The biggest shock came today as Chambers departs for Premier League side Aston Villa. Not a shock in the sense of Arsenal getting rid of him, but rather this one flew completely under the radar. This leaves us with Cedric as RB back up and to be frank I wish it was him off to Villa than Chambers... Regardless, I wish him the best and that closes the chapter on the 15/16 FA Cup winning team.

It looks like GK Matt Turner is set to be the first official signing for us at €7m + add ons, as Bernd Leno eyes a move away after losing his spot to summer signing and fan favorite, Aaron Ramsdale. I think its no secret we need a CM and ST bad. Bruno, Neves, Luiz, and Arthur have been the names circulating the most on the CM front. We chased Dušan Vlahović all window but he is all but official for Juventus. I do not really see us paying the release clause of €90m for Isak and no chance DCL moves from Everton midseason. There is only one man left for the job.... Dani Rojas!

In all seriousness it feels like pain is on the horizon come Jan 31. The one thing we can hold onto is the hope the club is doing it's business under the radar, much like the summer. No time for panic yet, let the pros do their job and then we can throw a fit later. Until then, come on you Gunners!
